You have always known that your body could be a source of strength, a concrete expression of your infinite potential, a dimension of yourself that could pull you forward, a “temple” that you could rely on unconditionally. You once had this vision that your body, mind, and spirit could work together to be a powerful source of vitality, clarity, alignment, and purpose in your life. And the truth is…

 You can’t go on like this anymore—this is just not who you are.

 You are sick and tired of not being able to stop eating you when you want to. Of realizing that in almost every other aspect of your life you can exercise self-control but when you are around food, you feel powerless. Even defeated at times. You’ve tried dozens of diets and God only knows how many strategies or gameplans to feel that you too can have the upper hand with food. That you can finally be the one in charge. And you know all too well the, “I’ll start on Monday,” consolation when nothing else worked out.

But months and years have gone by without a palpable feeling that things are getting better. You want to believe that you have learned from past attempts yet at your lowest points you feel there is something wrong with you that you cannot get this area of your life under control. It seems so much easier for others—they want to stop eating and they seem to be able to stop just like that, almost effortlessly. People just don’t seem to resort to food as much.. You silently ask yourself why on earth are you the one reaching for the extra helping or doing the extra trip to the kitchen when the going gets tough.

 And it is not that you have not tried hard. That you have not made up your mind. That you don’t want this bad enough. There is nothing you would want more than to feel empowered and strong around food and in your body. That would just mean the world to you. Just thinking about this possibility lights you up. It brings a genuine smile of peace and relief to your face.
